Hotel Montecarlo - Riobamba

The Montecarlo Hotel impressed with its elegant antique furnishings. The cozy inner patio offered a good retreat and was perfect. I appreciated the complimentary breakfast next door, with eggs, sandwiches, and fresh fruit. Purified water, coffee, and tea were a nice touch as well. The room had a good size but lacked adequate hooks or counter space was nice. The bathroom had only a basic shower setup, and the door to my street-facing balcony wasn't soundproof, allowing street noise to creep in. The friendly staff were accommodating, packing box sandwiches for my early breakfast. While the translation barrier was a bit of a challenge, they went the extra mile to assist me. A pleasant stay with a few areas needing attention.

check in was easy, hotel was stunningly beautiful, locations was beautiful in the city's attractive colonial area which is near the several squares that make riobamba a pleasant place to stop en-route to cuenca or quito.
